建物のイメージは、波をかきわけて大海原をすすむ船になっており、利尻富士をモチーフにした屋根形と、そこに沈む夕陽、時間とともに陰影で表情が変わる外壁、四季それぞれの彩りを演出する周囲の花や木。建物も自然と調和して美しいので、屋内で芸術に触れたあとは建物も一回りしてみてください。
In addition to historical exhibitions that are closely related to life on Rishiri Island, this facility allows visitors to experience art, culture, and a variety of other cultures. The complex also includes the Mount Rishiri Visitor Center, which displays information you should know before climbing Mount Rishiri and information that will make your climb even more enjoyable. Come experience the delicate art and historical culture.
The building is designed to resemble a ship sailing through the ocean, cutting through the waves, with a roof shape based on Rishiri Fuji, the setting sun, the exterior walls that change appearance with shadows over time, and the surrounding flowers and trees that create the colors of each season. The building is beautiful and in harmony with nature, so after experiencing the art indoors, be sure to take a look around the building as well.
